Our Newest Opportunity: The VP, Risk Management will manage financial risk for the company. The executive will establish workers’ compensation underwriting guidelines and processes; supervise such underwriting; manage risk management department personnel, including outsourced resources in a foreign country; coordinate with other department managers to service the company’s clients; manage carrier and claims management relationships; administer workers’ compensation insurance policies; provide client loss control services; and be a key participant in M&A due diligence and integration. This position will also work closely with the VP, Legal and Compliance regarding the company’s EPLI coverage, and coordinate with the broker for the company’s fiduciary and E&O policies. Key Responsibilities Supervise exempt and non-exempt risk management staff. Provide work instructions to outsourced risk management personnel. Develop department budget. Establish workers’ compensation underwriting guidelines and processes, and supervise such underwriting. Manage carrier and claims management relationships. Advise executive management regarding structure of risk management program such as captive, high deductible, guaranteed cost, number of carriers, etc. Administer workers’ compensation, EPL, fiduciary and E&O insurance policies. Provide client loss control services. Obtain workers’ compensation insurance and EPLI on clients’ behalf. Oversee workers’ compensation claim investigation and management. Devise workplace safety policies. Distribute safety documents to clients to display in the workplace to comply with OSHA regulations. Coordinate with other department managers to service clients. Perform risk management analysis in M&A due diligence. Lead integration of risk management functions of acquired companies. Other duties as appropriate to the objectives of the role and goals of Resourcing Edge. Required Experience Strong risk management experience. At least fifteen (15) years’ experience. Knowledge of workers’ compensation and EPL insurance, claims management and loss control operations. Experience with claims management systems. Preferred Skills Excellent planning, organizational and decision-making skills. Excellent analytical and interpretative skills, independent thinking and above average problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within short term timeframes. Ability to be flexible and to adapt quickly to ever changing business needs. Knowledge of workers’ compensation regulations. Comfort and experience with high volume of transactions. Ability to simultaneously manage several projects. Strong verbal, written, and listening skills. Process oriented. Ability to develop relationships with peers, staff and executive management. Ability to hire, retain and train staff.
